Most of event marketing activities have its costs. Whatever it is participation fee, place rental, equipment etc. Because of that we all expect at least some sales to happen at or after the event. But what about these great resources what most of us don’t remember?
1) getting to know clients
I am not talking about product/ service centric questions. I am talking about real natural conversation about interests, life and challenges. This is how You understand where your clients spends their free time, what challenges they face in daily life, what values are important for them.
2) helping clients
Your product for sure solves some problem that client has, but you with your resources and social network can solve even more. Maybe your clients can’t find business partner, maybe he or she needs help with some daily life challenges. To give client genuine referral or even better solve the problem and it will boost your clients’ loyalty and word of mouth even better as EUR 10 000 marketing campaign. Don’t get me wrong You don’t have to ask every client about his or her life. Make it your mindset and just be open in communication with your clients and You will see magic will happen!
3) Make follow-ups and provide value
Invite visitors to your next seminar or private conversation, provide clients with great resource. For example we give manuals on how to use and service folding tent to prolong its life or resources how to attract visitors at events. A really good resource that can raise brand awareness is a free branded bag made from fabric. If catalogs and flayers will fly in trash bin, shopping bags are usually used a lot afterwards. This is not the first time you meet client? Great! Ask how is he or she doing, ask about product experience!
4) ask for help
Nothing boosts ego more than moment when somebody asks us for help. Ask clients to help decide about next products color, features, etc.
5) build relationships with potential partners
If it is public event it is 99% that you will meet other companies with whom you can make great cooperation. Example? In one event we found great printing house what is delivering the best quality full prints on our tents for clients now. In other event we found projections company that needed tent. Last but the most superb example is that in one event we found one of our greatest colleagues.
How you do this all? Sounds easy and very general but it is proven true. Just be open minded, talk to people, be first to approach people and enjoy interactions!
